Constitution petition at SHC against Pervez Musharraf

KARACHI: A constitution petition has been submitted at Sindh High Court for filing a case against former president Pervez Musharraf for alleged treason under Articile 6 of the Constitution.

Sohail Ahmed, the petitioner, has stated in the petition that the former president neither had regard for the Constitution nor for his military uniform. “Firstly he toppled a democratic government and then contested presidential election in uniform,” it said.

The petition further stated that Pervez Musharraf, in a press conference at Karachi Press Club a few days back, asked the military to take on responsibilities to tackle internal threats, inciting them for a direct violation of the Constitution.

Sohail Ahmed said the former president has committed treason in all these matters, therefore, he said, action should be taken against him under Article 6 of the Constitution.
